      • Please be aware that all visitors must be U.S. citizens and present valid ID. If visitors are from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, or Washington, they must present a second form of ID: military ID, a U.S. passport or other photo ID issued by a local or state government entity. If second form of ID is not available, the individual must either be denied entry or escorted by someone at all times. More information can be found at: dhs.gov/real-id-public-faqs   

      • Please note that electronics capable of transmission are NOT allowed at the Pantex Plant.

        • Take I-40 East to FM 2373 (Exit 87).   

        • After exiting I-40, bear left to a stop sign. Turn left on to FM 2373.   

        • Go approximately 6 miles on FM 2373 - pass over US Highway 60 - Pantex is on the left.   

        • Take the second entrance and park at Building 16-12 Visitor Center for badging.

  • Technology and Prohibited Items on PANTEX Site:  

    • Guest Internet Access:  

      • Wireless access to the Internet is provided for the convenience of Pantex Plant guests. The service is available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in operational locations.   

      • Once onsite a self-registration process allows guests to register the device of choice and gain access.  

      • The following business rules provide a high-level understanding of the controls and appropriate use of the service:  

      • The wireless Guest Network is an unencrypted wireless service that allows guests of the Pantex Plant access to the Internet.  

      • The Wireless Guest Network is only approved for processing unclassified, publicly releasable information with government and visitor/company owned wireless devices. Personal devices are not allowed unless approved by Technical Security.  

      • Bringing the wireless device into the LA Zone or higher requires submission and approval of a PX-3429 (Potential Technical Surveillance Equipment) by Technical Security. The camera and microphone must be disabled. Bring the device to Technical Security for review if there is a valid business need.  

      • As a service provided by a federal site, there is no expectation of privacy and all communications are subject to collection and monitoring.  

      • Access to the Wireless Guest Network   

        • is through a self-registration process (Detailed instructions)  

        • is for a limited time not to exceed two weeks  

        • is automatically terminated by close of business of stated date or end of two weeks

    • Prohibited Items:  

      • The following items are NEVER allowed ANYWHERE on-site at Pantex,unless prior authorization has been received from the Safeguards & Security Division.

        • Ammunition  

        • Arrows  

        • Blackjacks  

        • Chemical dispensing devices for pepper spray, mace, etc.  

        • Controlled Substances  

        • Compound bows  

        • Crossbows  

        • Drug paraphernalia  

        • Drugs (prescriptions are allowed as long as they are prescribed for the employee who is using them – Medical must be notified of medication use)  

        • Explosives  

        • Explosive devices  

        • Fertilizer (Bulk)  

        • Firearms  

        • Items that could be used to manufacture explosives  

        • Incendiary devices  

        • Knives with blade length exceeding 2.5 inches  

        • Knuckles  

        • Nightsticks  

        • Nun chucks  

        • Stun guns  

        • Swords  

        • Technical Surveillance Equipment (i.e. any equipment specifically designed to clandestinely collect information)  

        • Zip guns  

    • Controlled Items:  

      • The following items are allowed on-site at Pantex but MUST remain in personal vehicles in the Property Protection Area.  

        • Cameras – At no time are pictures to be taken anytime on plant site with any type of personal equipment  

        • Computers not owned by Pantex (Exception: given on a case-by-case basis by the ISSM or his designate)  

        • Laptops/notebooks  

        • Smartphones/PDAs (i.e. iPhones)  

        • Media players (i.e. iPods)  

        • Tablets, pads and slates (i.e. iPads)  

        • Game devices (i.e. PSPs)  

        • Any other device with a processor and storage  

        • Computers Components   

        • Cellular wireless cards  

        • Wireless cards (Exception: wireless cards used for pool laptops in transit between 16-19 and your car)  

        • Bluetooth cards, devices or adapters  

        • Any other computer component or peripheral  

        • Global Positioning System – (e.g. portable transmit/receive)  

        • Golf clubs  

        • On-Star  

        • Personal software  

        • Radio frequency devices (Exception: key fobs are allowed except in Nuclear Explosive Areas)  

        • Recording devices (optical, video, audio or data)  

        • Telephones (all types including cellular and satellite)  

        • Exception: Government-owned cellular telephones  

        • XM or Sirius radio receivers with recording capabilities  

        • Any privately owned device, electronic or optical, capable of recording, processing, storing or transferring audio, computer data, video or photos
